The race is over and everyone is safely back at Purdue. We were very successful at the Eco-marathon this year, taking the Grand Prize for the Solar Division for the second year in a row with a top efficiency of 4913 MPG. We also received second place for the Technical Innovation Award.
All the pictures we took will soon be in our gallery. We will also post photo highlights from the last few days of the race as soon as possible. We will also be posting video highlights as soon as our camera gets back from California – it is currently in the crate with PULSAR. Both should be back this Friday, so look for videos soon.
We’re finishing up our last few runs here at the Shell Eco-marathon, and we’re happy to report that we still have the most efficient car, with a top efficiency of 4913 MPG. We have continued to make adjustments to the car, and we hope to break 5000 MPG on one of our remaining runs.
Iin the last two day we have gone approximately 150 miles in PULSAR during official runs, plus more in practice runs.
PULSAR has almost made it to the 5000 mpg mark! Our highest run so far has been 4905.6 mpg. There’s still time left in the day to make a few more runs and make it past 5000 mpg.
Keep voting for us on Shell’s social media hub! We’re currently in the lead! We’re also featured in a video on the hub, entitled “Purdue at crunch time.” Check it out!
We’ve made some additional changes to the car and made successful runs this morning. We hope to finish today with an even higher efficiency.
Please vote for us on Shell’s social media hub and help us get another interview! The voting closes at 5:00pm PDT, so hurry up and vote!
We apologize for the lack of pictures and video, but the internet connection at the track is still experiencing some problems. We’ll post more pictures and video soon. Shell has posted some pictures and video of us on our team profile.
It’s been yet another exciting day for us at the Shell Eco-marathon! We have successfully completed three runs this morning with excellent results. We currently stand at the top of the leaderboard with 4614.2 mpg and have completed more qualified runs than any other team. The results are highlighted on Shell’s social media site.
We have also been interviewed by several organizations, including a Shell representative. That interview should be posted on Shell’s social media site shortly. If you would like the Shell representative to interview us again, be sure to go to that site and vote for us at the bottom of the page.
