October Outreach Events
PSR has had a busy month! On October 6th Purdue Solar Racing drove PULSAR to Purdue’s campus to participate in Purdue’s Green Week, where we were able to help promote alternative energy at Purdue University (picture left).
Later that week, on the 10th, PULSAR drove over the the Purdue Memorial Union to attended the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra’s1933 World Fair themed Ball (picture below). The theme of the 1933 World Fair was “A Century in Progress,” and PSR was there to represent that progress.
PSR helped show school spirit by driving PULSAR and SPOT II in the Homecoming parade on the 15th and on the 21st PULSAR was at the Purdue Engineering fountain to take place in the Motor Sports at Purdue car show.
To finish off the busy month, Purdue Solar Racing drove down to Washington, DC on the 22nd-25th to exhibit in the USA Science and Engineering Festival. Along with bringing PULSAR, the team came together to build a track and program two solar RC cars (pictured right) to help educate and excite the public about solar power and alternative energy.
PSR was also fortunate enough to meet up with our friends from Lockheed Martin, as they were also sponsoring the Festival in DC (pictured below).
Lockheed Martin Sponsorship
Purdue Solar Racing would like to thank Lockheed Martin for their continued support and sponsorship of our team and of Celeritas. Lockheed Martin has been a long-time sponsor of PSR and one of their many contributions includes sponsoring our extremely successful Fall 2010 call out.
